A content management system (CMS) is a software application that allows publishing, editing and modifying content, organizing, deleting as well as maintenance of online content from a central interface. Infact the interface looks like what you see on word processing software like Microsoft Word or Openoffice Writer.
Content management systems or CMSs are usually used to run websites containing blogs, news, and shopping. Many corporate and marketing websites use CMSs. CMSs typically aim to avoid the need for hand coding. They are increasingly helpful in managing content like articles, video, design elements and imagery of a website. The final goal being publishing of content in a manner desirous by the editors and end users of the website.
